Teak

A hardwood native to India and the islands of the East Indies. It resembles walnut in colour and grain, although it has more of a tawny yellowish tinge. Silicates and minerals drawn into the wood quickly dull ordinary edge tools and knives tipped with carbide must be used to work it. It is a very durable wood because of its oily composition.
