Cabriole Leg
A furniture leg with two curves forming an attenuated S-shape, like the leg of an animal such as a goat ("cabriole" in Spanish). Its double curve turns in at the knee and flares out at the foot. Popular in the early 18th century, it was often used on chairs and terminated in a claw-and-ball or stylized paw foot. Often used in Queen Anne and Chippendale dining chairs.
